Dear Inyokern Chamber of Commerce members, Centennial sponsors and friends;

Thank you for your support of Inyokern during this Centennial year.  In addition to supporting the Inyokern Centennial Parade and Centennial Dinner, Chamber of Commerce members and supporters like you have made it possible for other groups to raise funds for Inyokern causes.

By making the Centennial Celebration possible, you helped Inyokern Elementary School raise over $1600 at the pancake breakfast.  These funds will be used for the 5th grade field trip.  Inyokern businesses also experienced increased traffic and income.

By sponsoring non-profit the use of Inyokern Town Hall, you made it possible for the Inyokern Rotary Club to raise an additional $2500.  These funds are being used for scholarships, community projects and over $700 for the Inyokern School field trip fund.

You allowed the United Methodist Women to use the Town Hall for a rummage sale which raised funds for their Inyokern community projects.  During the Senior Center parking lot renovation, you let the High Desert Seniors use the Town Hall for food distribution.

Because of you Aikido classes for Inyokern kids are now being held at the Town Hall.

You co-sponsored the 2nd annual Inyokern School writing contest.  12 kids received gift certificates to Redrock Books.

You made the 1st annual Inyokern Main Street Holiday Display contest a reality.  Everyone entering the Indian Wells Valley through Inyokern has been treated to a beautiful holiday display by our local businesses.  The contest was judged by Inyokern children.

You were also a part of the monthly awards on our town website, myinyokern.com.  Every month a Neighbor of the Month and Business of the Month are recognized.  The neighbor of the month receives a gift certificate to a local business.  The website promotes businesses, events and organizations in and around Inyokern and publicly acknowledges your social responsibility and commitment to our community.

The board of directors has chosen the 2010 Chamber of Commerce President.   Bob Mize will be leading the Inyokern Chamber of Commerce in Inyokern's 101st year.  Bob is a highly respected member of our community and will serve us well.

It is with gratitude that I commend you for what you have done for Inyokern.  As this special year in the sun passes into history, I thank you for the honor of being allowed to serve in this Centennial year.

Sincerely,

Jim Dietzel
2009 President, Inyokern Chamber of Commerce
