The Neighbor of the Month can be anyone you know. This could be that special person who always has a smile or kind word or is willing to help when you need a hand. This honor will include a photo posted on this page and a caption or short biography.

Pastor Travis McKinney is a hands-on leader who has been in the Indian Wells Valley for the last year and a half. He and his wife Ariel minister to both the Inyokern and Trona congregations.
Travis has been volunteering with the Boys and Girls Clubs literacy program, helping children with reading at Inyokern, Faller and Pierce elementary schools. Ariel also sings at the church services and works full time at China Lake NAWC.
Both Travis and Ariel came from New Mexico and recently purchased a home in Ridgecrest. It looks like they are here to stay! Both Travis and Ariel are community minded and a welcome addition to our valley. They invite you to attend Sunday services in Trona at 9 am or Inyokern at 11 am. Christmas Eve services will be at 5pm in Trona and 7pm in Inyokern.
Travis and Ariel also provided the fellowship hall of the Inyokern Church for Lottie Kennedy to hold Hebrew classes. They also sponsored a sports day at Inyokern Park and a sing-along at Inyokern Senior Center.
Thank you Travis and Ariel for being great neighbors in the Indian Wells Valley. As neighbors of the month Travis and Ariel will receive a gift certificate from Torres Steakhouse.
