February 2008 neighbor of the month

The webmaster would like to thank all of those present at the Chamber of Commerce meeting for their help choosing Bobby Daniels as our February Neighbor of the Month.

Bobby was nominated by Ray Petitt, another great neighbor and John Deere tractor owner and enthusiast.

Bobby and his wife Lauranna made it a point to invite the whole community to an excellent party in their park-like back yard. The barbecue was to celebrate Bobby's Birthday and included a band and a lot of fun for the kids on the three hole golf course. Bobby went out of his way to greet his guests and make sure everyone felt welcome.

Bobby did his best to make sure everyone in the neighborhood knew about the party and the band by putting an ad in the Swap Sheet and by making a personal appearance at the Chamber of Commerce meeting. Such a magnanimous gesture towards the community undoubtedly qualifies Bobby for the honor of Neighbor of the Month and we are fortunate to have such a great neighbor. The sentence that comes with this award is that the recipient must continue to be an ambassador of good will on behalf of Inyokern for the duration of their term. Bobby's community spirit helps make Inyokern the Sunshine Capital of America.

There were other nominations and votes for neighbor of the month and the webmaster would like to thank all of those who made nominations and spent time to cast their votes. The neighbor of the month for March will be selected by the Inyokern Senior Center. The Neighbor of the Month can be anyone you know. This could be that special person who always has a smile or kind word or is willing to help when you need a hand. This honor will include a photo posted on this page and a caption or short biography.
