The Sheriff's Off-Road Vehicle Team has recently purchased new off-road vehicles that will be used for patrolling desert areas of Kern County.  The new vehicles are four Kawasaki 450 quads and a Yamaha Rhino.

The vehicles were on display at the Inyokern Substation on Monday April 14th.  The Sheriff's Inyokern Substation is used to store the Off-Road Vehicle Team's equipment and to train law enforcement personnel in the use of off-road vehicles.

These vehicles were purchased with funds provided by First District Supervisor Jon McQuiston and Don Maben,  Second District Supervisor.

The quads offer the opportunity to get more people in the field to better serve the public.  The off-road team is often the first to respond and arrive when help is needed.
