Inyokern Rotary April 2008 Highlights
We discussed the upcoming Inyokern Elementary reading program and writing contest. Can you make the commitment to serve?
Call one of the members or come to a meeting any Tuesday, 6:30 pm at Bernardino's Restaurant.
We were very fortunate to have Bob Gould from the China Lake Rotary Club give a slide presentation about his trip to Antarctica during our April 15th meeting. Bob refers to this as his trip of a lifetime and shared many little-known facts about the Antarctic outposts. There is an international effort to restore some of the historic huts and also return many other sites to natural conditions.
Pictured with Bob Gould is Dominic Sween. Inyokern Rotary Club sponsored Dominic's attendance at the Rotary Club Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) retreat at Camp Ramah in Ojai. Dominic made an appearance at the meeting to thank the Inyokern Rotary Club and to tell us about the retreat. Thank you Dominic for your fine representation at the RYLA retreat and for being a responsible leader.
