Inyokern Rotary July 2008 Highlights
Surprise guest speaker Jinny DeAngelis from the Rotary Club of China Lake spoke about the Rotary Grants program at our July 15th meeting. The structure of the Rotary grants program encourages clubs to work together on larger projects that will have a greater impact on communities.

Dick Lewis spoke at our July 22nd meeting. Dick spoke of his service to our country aboard the USS Frazier during WW II. He shared many stories including how the destroyer rammed a Japanese sub, and a kamikaze near-miss.
Wally Beckett received the Rotarian of the Year award at our July 29th meeting. Wally is always busy with community projects including deck building (with wife Ivy) and smoke detector maintenance for local seniors. Wally also volunteers at the Inyokern Senior Center. Congratulations, Wally!
