Thom Boggs was the guest speaker at the March 11 meeting and gave a presentation on the the planned expansion of the Maturango Museum.

Guest speakers Bob and Laurabell Kalloch of Inyokern gave a talk on gold mining at the March 18 meeting.  Bob and Laurabell worked a placer claim on a stream in the Oregon wilderness for many years.  They would work the mine for five months each year.  The mine was at the end of forty miles of bad road that they maintained themselves.  They packed in their own supplies and ground their own flour to bake bread and grew their own vegetables.
Thank you Laurabell and Bob Kalloch for your interesting talk and for sharing your knowledge about placer mining.  We look forward to hearing from you again and hope you will share more of your experiences with us soon.  For more about Bob & Laurabell follow this link.

From our March 18th meeting:  Joshua Weeks being congratulated by his grandmother Kay Weeks on his acceptance as a Rotary Exchange student to Poland from Maryland for the 2008-2009 school year.
Inyokern Rotary Club  president Kay 'Tiger' Weeks with Rotary District 5240 Governor Jane McClenahan.   Governor McClenahan spoke about the Inyokern Rotary Club and our vision for the future.  Members took a few minutes to consider the future of our town and our club and where we will be in in 2021.
