In the early 1950s, there were more than 20,000 cases of polio in the US each year. After polio vaccination began in 1955, cases dropped significantly. By 1960, the number of cases dropped to about 3,000, and by 1979 there were only about 10.

Over 50 years later polio is still widespread in Pakistan, Afghanistan, India and Nigeria.  Help stop this disease for good by joining with Rotary International to eradicate this deadly crippling disease.
