Sgt Davis of the Kern County Sheriff Off Road Vehicle Team talks with a visitor to the Dove Springs open riding area.  The Off Road Team works out of the Ridgecrest Substation.

If you have questions or concerns about off-road vehicle use in the Ridgecrest & Inyokern area call the Ridgecrest Substation at (760) 384-5800.  Regular business hours are Monday-Friday 8-5.

The Inyokern Substation is located at 6612 Orchard Street and the present function is as a support facility for the Sheriff's Department Off Road Vehicle Team.
Six year old Sabryn is visiting Dove Springs with her parents and grandparents.  Dove Springs and Jawbone Canyon open areas are very popular destinations for ORV enthusiasts from all over Southern California.
In addition to the open areas there are many marked trails open for travel.  Friends of Jawbone has an excellent trail map that can keep you out of trouble and get you back to where you started.
The Off Road Team often has a dozen or more officers on duty all over Kern County on busy weekends.  These photos were taken at the Dove Springs outpost.  The majority of calls concern injured or lost riders.

Inyokern and the Webmaster thank the Kern County Sheriff's department for performing their sworn duty to protect and serve all of the citizens of Kern County, both off road and in our neighborhoods.  For more information about the Kern County Sheriff's Department, visit their site.
