May 2009 Inyokern neighbor of the month

The Neighbor of the Month can be anyone you know. This could be that special person who always has a smile or kind word or is willing to help when you need a hand. This honor will include a photo posted on this page and a caption or short biography. Email the webmaster with your nomination for neighbor of the month.

Maggie teaches 5th grade at Inyokern Elementary School. Brian works with computers from home. Both Maggie and Brian are regular volunteers at Inyokern School. Maggie also volunteered to stay an extra hour after class to help students with their homework.

Their most recent effort was the 5th grade talent show, followed by the faculty barbecue. They are also going to be cooking at the school barbecue on the last day of school.

Maggie learned a lot about construction and demolition from helping her dad on building and remodeling projects, and she isn't afraid to tackle the big jobs. She has even been known to help the Webmaster family on their big remodeling project in Lake Isabella. This included bringing a full course dinner from sixty miles away!

As neighbors of the month Maggie and Brian received a gift certificate from Torres Steakhouse. Thank you Maggie and Brian for being such great neighbors.

P.S. Maggie was named Teacher of the Year 2008-2009 on the last day of school!
