My Inyokern Community Site
It's the smiles that make Inyokern the Sunshine Capital of America!
If you remember 'Where's Waldo?' this should be easy... A hard to find person, object or landmark on one of the pages in this site must be located to win. Answer the brain-teaser question and win! The first person who emails the webmaster with the correct answer wins $20 of MY money.*
This contest will frustrate dial-up users so I encourage you to use a search engine- remember it can take a week or more for a search bot to find new info on the web!
The question must be answered by the last day of the month or MY $20 will be spent on a steak at Torres Restaurant, marinated chops at Sierra Cocktails and Supper Club or possibly broiled halibut at Ewing's on the Kern. This contest is dedicated to all of our readers and to the supporters of Inyokern Town Hall.
*Entrants must be over 18 and legal residents of the US. Not responsible for email server errors, etc. Your email address will not be shared.

This month's contest is also a "What in My Inyokern?" question... What numerical similarity does the image of the inscription on the Siding 16 Centennial Monument have in common with the location of the Centennial Monument? Email the name of the page and the answer to the webmaster by January 15 and get an extra $5! Contest ends 31 January.
13 January, 7:30 pm
For the first time in the history of our contest we have a bonus winner! Heidi Reeder of Boron CA solved the mystery question in record time. I found it difficult to focus through misty eyes as I read her message, the shock of the loss of MY $25 was so overwhelming. In her own words:
The numerical similarity between the IMAGE of the inscription and the LOCATION of the monument is found on the Buildings and Landmarks page.
It is this
The Location is the old "395"
And upon right clicking the IMAGE of the inscription, selecting properties, one will find that the image is 395 by 395 (pixels)
Congratulations Heidi on relieving me of MY $25. I should be through the grieving process in time for next months contest.

You won't have to climb a mountain to find this month's subject, although it may seem like it. Find Chef Unhi. Find the Chef in the next 24 hours and win an extra $5!
October 6, 2009 5:00 am
The September contest is over. The big three search bots found Chef Unhi but none of our readers did. It was suggested that the request was difficult to understand (her name is Unhi and she was cooking at a barbecue) and that it would be more interesting if I added more zeroes to the cash prize. I agree with the latter... in the future the prize money will be $000,000,020! I hope you are as excited about this as I am. My September prize money has been invested in refined crude oil products.

With one day to spare Adrienne Mathewson found Mrs. Webmaster sweeping on Locust Street in Inyokern. Mrs. Webmaster is eternally grateful for being found as the nights have been getting really cold here in Inyokern. The forecast is for chilly weather at the Webmaster house due to the previous statement.
